Buster: The Man Behind The Blade

When Buster first came to Estes & Sons, the company was in need of someone with experience and wisdom to aid in every day decisions, but Buster has been so much more to us. Throughout the time that we have had Buster with Estes & Sons, he has guided us through multiple unknown areas. Every day he helps our administration team grow and learn, as well as being the onsite back bone in daily operations.

Throughout his thirty years, Buster has gained a vast amount of knowledge and understanding in the field of grading and excavation. He not only is a superintendent, but runs a bulldozer nearly every day. With every drop of the blade, Buster shapes dirt into a work of art with ultimate control and precision.

Buster’s favorite part of work is being outdoors, so I guess you could say he chose a good line to work in! While his days aren’t a walk in the park- between coordinating with other contractors, communicating with admin and various subcontractors, overseeing new employees, dealing with weather delays, and so many more challenges- he has shown up with the most genuine smile every single day. We asked him to give advice to the younger generations that might be starting out with which his response in short was “learn and listen” – explaining that nothing is more important than learning from the people who have committed to the career for years.
